“…my fiddle Fig Leaf tree is really thriving under the sun bulb. I’ve had it for 4 weeks and it’s constantly producing new growth and I’ve had no leaves dropping.”
“…new growth where there hasn’t been any for a long time.”

“It’s really easy to fine tune the light exactly to your plant’s needs by adjusting the angle and narrow/wideness of beam too!”
“…flexible with how narrow or wide the light can shine is really helpful when you have a huge collection.”
“The adjustable light aperture is very useful as allows you to dial in the light spread to just your plants without getting light in your eyes when you walk past it.”

No window needed. A Sun Bulb brings the light to the plant, so a dark corner, a hallway or a north-facing room can hold your best plants, and you can arrange the room the way you want it instead of crowding everything by the glass.
“Now my North facing Dungeon is a Jungle!!”
how much light reaches your plants“…one of these lights is sufficient to keep a few plants thriving in a completely unlit area with no external light source.”
Three adjustments set exactly how much light reaches your plants, and where.

Readings were taken at the 15° and 50° settings; the lens sets any beam between them. For one big plant, like a tall monstera or a kentia palm, hang it 0.75 to 1 m above and widen the beam until it covers the leaves. Full map from 0.25 to 3 m in the FAQ.

Or wind the fabric cable around a curtain rail, a plant pole or the stairs. Tilt the bulb on its strap to aim it, then slide the lens to set the beam.
A wall bracket must be fixed firmly to the wall. The fixings supplied are for brick or concrete; plasterboard and other walls need fixings made for them. If you’re unsure, ask a qualified installer.
The bulb and cable have no switch, so it’s on whenever the wall socket is on. The smart plug is only in the box if you add it when you order; you can also buy it on its own.
The smart plug goes between the bulb and the socket. You pair the plug, not the bulb, with its phone app, then set the times it turns the light on and off each day. Plants grow best with a regular day and night, so a timer does more than save a trip to the socket.
Yes. Colour temperature (3500K) describes how the light looks to us, not which wavelengths it holds. The Sun Bulb’s white LED covers the whole 400 to 700 nm range plants use, from blue to red, and puts out 19.16 µmol/s of it.
A cooler 6500K “daylight” bulb looks bluer, but that doesn’t make it better for plants. The warm white simply looks natural in a home.
The body gets warm while it’s on. That’s by design: the aluminium draws heat away from the LED so it lasts longer. Let it cool before you move or adjust it, and keep it clear of leaves and fabric.

It depends on what you grow. Most foliage houseplants, like monstera, kentia palm and aroids, are happy with 40 to 150 PPFD: hang it 0.5 to 1 m above with the beam wide, and it covers 1.3 to 2.5 m². Sun lovers like a fiddle leaf fig want more: hang it lower or focus the beam.
For one big plant, go higher and widen the beam until it covers the leaves, or light it from two sides with a second bulb.

About $2.50 a month at Australian power prices. It draws 22 W and uses about 7.2 kWh a month. The smart plug app shows exactly what yours uses.
No. Plants need a dark period each day to rest, so copy a natural day and night cycle rather than running lights around the clock. A wifi smart plug switches your light on and off by itself.
Light needs vary by plant. Too many hours of light can make some leafy greens, like spinach, bolt to seed.
Yes. Our grow lights give plants the wavelengths they use to grow, so they work just as well for plants in soil as for hydroponic and aquaponic setups.
Lumens measure brightness as the human eye sees it, not what plants use. Watts measure power use, not light output. Kelvin describes colour, from warm and reddish to cool and bluish. PAR is the range of light plants use for photosynthesis (400 to 700 nm), and PPFD measures how much of that useful light reaches your plants.
For growing, PAR and PPFD are the numbers that matter. Learn more in how much light do plants need?
